Mablethorpe Technology Hub is expanding into new premises due to its popularity with the local community.
Since it opened its doors 15 months ago, the hub has welcomed many visitors, including the general public, businesses and local teachers. In fact, it’s been so successful it is now moving to a bigger home at Mablethorpe Business Centre.
Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “The new workshop will mean that more people can use the hub at any given time, bringing opportunities for local groups and schools.
“We’ll also be able to keep it open for longer, giving people the chance to use it in the evenings and at weekends.
“Training and seminar rooms will be available, and there will be much better disabled access.
“I’m delighted this excellent facility is proving so popular with residents and businesses, and I’m sure this move will bring even more people through the doors.”
Councillor Tony Howard, who is Chair of The Boatshed Management Committee that runs The Coastal Centre, added: “During my time here I have been proud to witness several projects blossom and succeed to the point where they outgrow our facilities. Once again we are in that enviable position.
“Having been instrumental in establishing the very first hub of this kind in the whole county, it is very pleasing to see how the project has developed and all of us here believe that now is the right time for it to transfer into a more business-friendly environment.”
