Pilot temporary waste collection service to be trialled in Mablethorpe

Lincolnshire County Council will a temporary waste collection service for Mablethorpe over the summer to make it easier for residents to dispose of their waste.

The service will operate from Enterprise Road from April 6 until the end of September, from 8am until 12 noon every Saturday.

Residents will be able to dispose of the following materials:

• General household waste including bulky items

• Green garden waste

• Cardboard

• Plastics

• Paper

• Glass including bottles

• Small electrical items.

Note: Trade waste will not be accepted.

Sean Kent, head of environmental management said: “We have been keen to implement this supplementary service for Mablethorpe for some time.

“It will make it much easier for residents to dispose of their household waste over the busy summer months.

“This is a pilot project, and we’ll evaluate how useful and popular it is.

“If we find the service being abused by trade waste being dumped there, or fly tipping in the area, it will be withdrawn.”
