Lincolnshire Wolds Railway in Ludborough has been named as one of the county’s best “silver” days out by a leading travel website for mature tourists.

SilverTravelAdvisor.com cited the railway as one of Lincolnshire’s many tourist attractions that are “highly impressive, age-friendly and well geared up to less mobile visitors”.

Lincolnshire Wolds Railway was one of the top 11 attractions that was given a special mention in the website’s report.

Silver Travel Advisor’s Managing Director, Debbie Marshall, said: “The ability to park close to an attraction, the availability of refreshment and toilet facilities, the accessibility of the site and also concessions for older visitors are important considerations for those planning a day out with an older companion”.

She added: “We are particularly impressed at how many attractions in Lincolnshire have adapted to an aging market and recognised and responded to the limitations that reduced mobility brings”.

In particular, the website said that the Wolds Railway “provides a nostalgic day out for the oldies as well as entertaining the grandchildren.”
