Ella Henderson’s Dad Sean believes his daughter is just getting started after Ella was dramatically voted out of the X Factor on Sunday night.

After being left in the bottom two after the public votes 16-year-old Ella, from Tetney, was left to sing for survival against James Arthur.

The judges could not split the pair and when voting went to deadlock, host Dermot O’Leary announced that Ella would be going home after securing the least public backing.

There were heartbreaking scenes as mentor Tulisa Contostavlos branded the situation ‘ridiculous’ and Nicole Scherzinger said it was a ‘tragedy’ to see Ella go home.

Ella’s performance of You’re The One That I Want was labelled ‘perfect’ the previous night, and her rendition of Daniel Bedingfield’s If You’re Not The One was, if anything, even more impressive.

Fears had been raised in recent weeks that Ella’s votes had dried up due to her fans believing her to be safe each week.

Ella was clearly heartbroken to be eliminated, but said she’d loved ‘every minute’ of her journey.

Ella’s Dad Sean has backed her to launch a successful music career in the future.

He said: “The whole family are so proud of her, we think she has done amazing to get so far.

“We believe she is our winner and now her career starts.”

Bookmakers had installed Ella as overwhelming favourite to win the ITV show, with judge Louis Walsh twice telling her she was ‘the best singer since Leona Lewis’.

Simon Cowell said on Twitter that it was ‘unbelievable’ that Ella had been sent home.

Afterwards Ella took to her Twitter page to thank her fans for their support. “U r all true stars and I love you all,” she said.

Fans also backed Ella on the Leader’s social networking sites. Zoe Bunting said on Facebook: “I’m sure she will go on to stardom without winning, many others have done so.”
