A banner advertising an upcoming charity event has been stolen from the railings outside the Orme Almshouses in Louth.

The green and yellow banner, which measured 15’ by 4’, was taken from the railings in Ramsgate between 2pm on Monday August 17, and 10.30am
on Tuesday August 18.

This banner was advertising the three- day Grainthorpe Festival of Arts, which takes place in the village over the Bank Holiday weekend. This year is the festival’s 20th anniversary.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “It’s such a shame, the committee and the village work tirelessly to put this event on to raise funds for village organisations such as Meals on Wheels, the church and the
village hall.

“Now we have lost prime advertising space and the expense of the banner. Whoever removed the banner took the trouble to cut the ties.”
