Charity event in Huttoft raises £2,016 to help local teen receive dolphin therapy

A charity event that was recently featured in the Leader to raise funds to help send a Huttoft teenager for dolphin therapy in 2016 has raised a massive £2,016.

The event was held on November 21 and organised by mum Lisa Russell.

She organised the event to help as much funds as possible so her son can head back to Key Largo, Florida in 2016 for more dolphin therapy which he had previously in 2011.

Her son Joshua,19, has multiple disabilities and the therapy worked wonders previously so it was help him return for more.

It was also arranged so people in the community could come together to be part of an enjoyable event alongside giving a helping hand local businesses to promote their stalls and products.

Lisa commented: “I would just like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped out, supported and came along to our charity event. I am absolutely overwhelmed by the amount that was raised and the support the event received.

“It is quite bizarre to see that we raised £2,016 which is the exact same year that Joshua will be going to Key Largo for the therapy.”
