Christmas tree collection and recycling will raise money for two good causes

WONDERING what to do with your Christmas tree when you have taken it down?

Call in the Rotary Club of Louth and they will take it away from outside your home.

They will be collecting Christmas trees on Saturday January 7 and Sunday January 8.

People can book in advance by calling 01507 602298 (between 9am and 5pm) or emailing and choosing either a morning or afternoon collection. Morning colections will take place between 10am and 1pm and afternoon collections between 1pm and 4pm.

A minimum donation of £4 is required which can be left attached to the tree in a small plastic bag. Cheques can be made out to Louth Rotary Club.

All the collectors will be wearing Louth Rotary Club yellow tabards.

The money will go to the Louth Community Larder and the Louth Macmillan Cancer Relief team of nurses.

The trees will be taken to a central point where a local tree specialist has agreed to chip them down and recycle the waste.
