A service of dedication to the life of Mr Christopher John Allison Cladingbowl was held recently at St Helen’s Church, Theddlethorpe, conducted by the Rev Ian Partridge.
Chris was educated at St Martin’s Preparatory School, Grimsby and St James’ Choir School, Grimsby before then transferring to Skegness Grammar School.
Chris served as a Merchant Navy officer with the ships of Ben Line Steamers Ltd on their worldwide routes, but predominately their Far Eastern trade routes.
Following the decline of the British merchant fleet he went on to work as a marine surveyor with Broderick, Wright and Strong Ltd before working as an independent marine surveyor. He continued running the business, despite his illness, right up until a month or two before his death.
Chris served for many years on the Revesby Country Fair committee and more recently on the South Wold Hunt Point-to-Point committee. He also helped and supported the South Wold Hunt and the South Wold Hunt North Pony Club for a number of years.
Funeral arrangements were conducted by Kettle Funeral Directors, Louth.
