Two young mums who have set up a group for parents and their children are hosting a superhero themed party for Children in Need.
Sarah Betson, 20, from Trusthorpe, set up the group a year ago this month and Alana Cleaver, 17, from Mablethorpe, came in and brought forward some great ideas, so the young mum duo decided to run the group together.
The group was initially aimed at young mums, but since the launch has been expanded to any parent with a child.
“Being a young mum myself with a two-year-old daughter, I thought it would be a great idea to set up a group for young mums in the local area for people to talk, discuss related issues and just have a nice opportunity to meet other parents and make new friends,” Sarah said.
“Alana then had some fantastic ideas to contribute to the group, so we decided to then run the group together.
“After getting to the one-year milestone, our Facebook group, ‘Tiny Tots and Proud Parents’ nearly has 100 members.”
Sarah added: “And there not just parents from our area, we have also branched out to Skegness and Louth as well.
“When we meet because of the distance between members, we pick a member from the group each month, giving them enough time to organise a meeting destination.
“And to make it fair so everyone can attend, we hold the meets in each of the different areas our members are from. So one month it will be a venue in Mablethorpe and then the next it might be Louth.”
The group are now putting on a charity event in aid of Children in Need on Friday, November 14.
The event is a superhero themed party which will be taking place at the Kirkstead Holiday Park in Trusthorpe.
The party starts from 7pm and entry is free. Fancy dress is optional and everyone is welcome to attend.
There will be lots of games and a raffle and a fancy dress competition also.
Pictured above are the group admins, Sarah and Alana in their fancy dress Pudsey Bear onesies and they have also managed to incorporate the superhero theme into their attire.
