Twenty-two pupils and six staff members from Cordeaux Academy took part in a mile long swim at the Meridian Leisure Centre on Friday (March 21) in aid of Sport Relief. The team members each swam an impressive 64 lengths to achieve their goal.

Pupils were given a choice to either swim the mile, run a mile, or cycle 20 miles around Louth.

Each pupil collected individual sponsorships throughout the previous week.

Cordeaux’s swimming coach, Kate Kemp, said: “I’m very proud of the pupils, as they all managed to swim the mile.

“Some pulled each other along for part of it - but there’s nothing wrong with that!”

The school have raised hundreds of pounds for Sport Relief through their efforts, with donations and sponsorships still coming in.
