The owner of A&M Dog Grooming based in Covenham has shown he’s a cut above the rest after coming out with a win at a major competition.

Adrian Long has already secured a winning streak in previous dog grooming competitions and his latest win was secured in the ‘Purebred Scissor’ category at the British Dog Grooming Championship 2014 held at Stoneleigh Park near Warwick on October 12.

Adrian took to the competition floor with his seven-year-old dog Bentley ,who is a rescue Bouvier Des Flanderes dog.

Adrian was part of the experienced class, but will soon be making waves among the advanced classes.

“It was a real shock, yet such a pleasant surprise to have won my class in the recent Dog Grooming Championship at Stoneleigh Park in the experienced ‘Purebred Scissor’ category,” Adrian said.

“I never expect to come out as a winner because you never know how good you are until you get out there and compete.”

This latest win comes shortly after another victory, which Adrian took at the Northern Groomers competition in Durham in the ‘Scissor Class.’

The British Dog Grooming Championship was the last national competition of the year, but Adrian will be back competing when
the competitions start up again.

Till then, Adrian is now off to spend the day with the British Dog Groomers at the end of November, where the British team will be on hand to give him some advice and instruction.
