Homes lose power as thieves target power cables

Thieves have stolen a quantity of copper from an overhead cable at Withern, near Alford.

The offenders targeted three 80m spans of overhead power cable in a remote location near to Stain Lane, overnight between Thursday April 10 and Friday April 11.

The theft affected the power supply to many homes.

During the same period of time, other areas of cabling were also targeted at Stewton, near Louth, and in the North Willingham areas, including several hundred metres of cabling from a field adjacent to the Caistor High Street.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity overnight, or who has any information, should contact PC Simon Beaney by dialling 101 and quoting the incident number.
