Police in Louth are probing thefts from cars where holes were drilled in fuel tanks to steal petrol.

There were two incidents in North Somercotes yesterday (Wednesday) but police believe more people have been targeted.

PC Ian Clark, of Louth Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, is appealing for victims of fuel thefts to come forward.

He said: “Please report incidents without delay, this gives us a better idea of the problem and allows us to put interventions in place to prevent others from becoming victims.

“Please report incidents and suspicious activity on 101 or if the activity is happening there and then consider calling on 999.”
