Louth woman, 42, banned after drug-driving offences

Claire Louise Rowland, 42, of Longleat Drive, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on December 31, where she pleaded guilty to the following offences which took place in Louth on June 19 last year:

• Driving while she had a controlled drug, 800mg of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood, in her system;

• Driving while she had a controlled drug, namely 40mg of cocaine per litre of blood, in her system;

• Driving without valid third party insurance and without a valid licence.

For these offences, she was fined £120 and handed a driving ban of 24 months.

She was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

In court on the same day, Rowland also faced two charges relating to a previous occasion, in Yarborough Road, Lincoln, on January 27 last year, which were as follows:

• Driving while she had a controlled drug, namely 800mg of benzoylecgonine per litre of blood, in her system;

• Driving while she had a controlled drug, namely 31mg of cocaine, in her system.

For these two further offences, Rowland was fined £120 and handed a 12 month driving disqualification.

Rowland’s guilty pleas were taken into account by the court when sentencing.
