District Council launches online cookbook to encourage healthier eating

WANT to eat more healthily but lack ideas in the kitchen? East Lindsey District Council may be able to help with its new online cookbook.

With funding from NHS Lincolnshire, the District Council has for over three years being running the Food for Life Programme to encourage people in the District to improve their health through better eating habits.

The online cookbook provides recipe ideas for great food, including Mediterranean Rice Salad, Cottage Pie and Pear Cake.

With more recipes to be added on a regular basis it is hoped that people will be encouraged to cook healthier means in the home.

As well providing the recipes online, the Council also runs a series of Food for Life cooking sessions at community centres in the District, which demonstrate how to prepare meals.
