Duck races raise £1,300 for hall

CROWDS gathered from a wide area for the popular annual Duck and Terrier Races which raised £1,300 for Donington on Bain Village Hall funds.

The picturesque Biscathorpe Park was the venue thanks to the generosity of the Wallis family and the River Bain was available not only for the ducks to sail down, but also to keep the young visitors happily occupied as they enjoyed a paddle and water play.

Sausages and burgers were cooked and served from the barbecue and a raffle, tombola. coconut shy, skittles and the striker provided something of interest for everyone added to the excitement of the races.

The Village Hall Management Committee thanked everyone who donated prizes and gave their support.
