The Barkwith and district Gardeners Spring Show was cancelled due the daffodils blooming much later than usual but the schedules for the late summer show on Friday August 30 are now available from committee members or the village post office.
In addition to the usual sections for fruit and vegetables, flowers and floral art the photography classes from the spring show have been carried forward. Photos are invited to illustrate My Garden at its Best, One of my Favourite Garden plants and A Great Day out.
Floral art enthusiasts are invited to display a vertical line arrangement, a hat decorated with fresh flowers, fruit and foliage and a jug of seasonal flowers with foliage.
There are trophies to be won by the exhibitors who gain the most points in the flower section, the vegetable section and floral art section, the best exhibit in photography, the best dahlia and the best fuchsia. The show is open to members of the club, residents of the village and anyone living within a seven mile radius.
