East Lindsey District Council is looking at more cost effective ways of running its leisure centres, including the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth.

ELDC has said it is going to investigate ‘alternative management and delivery options’ for its leisure facilities and cultural services ‘in its continued quest for value for money for local residents’.

The council currently spends £4.24m each year in these areas and has to save several millions of pounds in the next few years.

Coun Adam Grist, Portfolio Holder for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: “Once the initial investigations have been completed, recommendations will be made which will enable all councillors to debate the matter.”
