A dance academy from Louth is to perform showstopping routines at the SO Festival in Skegness.

One of the highlights of the festival is routines from some of Lincolnshire’s best and brightest talent at SO…You Dance? on July 6.

Louth’s Elite Academy of Dance will perform a programme titled Circus Showdown, inspired by the circus and incorporating a variety of styles into a melody of dance featuring clowns, acrobatics, ponies, lions and dolls.

Lisa Meanwell, principal for Elite Academy of Dance, said: “Performing at SO Festival is an amazing opportunity for our dancers to gain more confidence by performing to large crowds of people.

“Each one of our 60 to 70 dancers is looking forward to performing on stage in Skegness because they have a blast each year, not just with the other dancers, but with their family and friends who come along to watch and support us.

“We’re very lucky to have been a part of this event for the past four years, and we hope to be a part of it for many years to come.”

Other Lincolnshire dance acts scheduled to take part include Top Limitz Dance School, Samantha Sorrell, kNacKer’d Youth Dance Company, redXco, RAW Youth Group, Amy O’Sullivan and Salsa Amigos.

SO Festival is funded by East Lindsey District Council, Arts Council England and Centrica Energy. For details visit www.sofestival.org.
