Protection order granted on tree in Louth after property damage fears are quashed

A protection order has been imposed on a mature copper beech tree at 28 South Street in Louth.

The tree was at risk of being felled in the wake of claims - unsubstantiated - that its roots might be causing subsidence damage to an adjacent property.

In making the order, East Lindsey planners agreed with an officer’s report which described the specimen as being of ‘high amenity value’, especially as it is located on a main road through the town.
