Solar panels approved

TWO planning applications to place solar panels on the Meridian Lesiure Centre and London Road sports ground in Louth have been approved.

Both applications were given the go ahead by East Lindsey Council’s planning committee and work will commence on installling the photovoltaic panels to the roofs of these local facilities as soon as possible.

James Gilbert, Communincations Officer for ELDC said: “We are keen to install all the solar panels as quickly as possible so we can start to realise the savings they will deliver - at least £873,429 over 25 years.

“As well as the savings, the solar panels will also make our leisure centres more environmentally friendly reducing our carbon footprint by 73,000kg per year.”
