MEMBERS of Sutton on Sea WI have planted new hedging and tree saplings on the Acre Gap conservation area.

The land, now designated as an inland flood relief area, will soon bear plants including bare-rooted hazel, crab apples, blackthorn and dog rose. These were kindly donated by the Woodland Trust.

Also planted was a special oak sapling grown from an acorn from the Queen’s royal estate to celebrate her 60th year on the throne in 2012.
