A link across the decades between two Louth businesses was made thanks to Facebook.
Luck of Louth were pleased to receive a Facebook message from Sue Gibson Dabbs (formerly Sue Gibson) who grew up in Louth.
She told them that the shop in Eastgate used to belong to her grandfather, who traded under the name M N Taylor’s.
Jim Luck happened to have a photo of himself with her grandfather shaking hands.
It was taken in 1985, on the day the keys to the shop were handed over to Jim.
The black and white picture has always been hung with pride in the shop, as they are very interested in the history of the building.
Jim presented a delighted Sue and her son George with a copy of the photo when they visited the shop.
Back in 1985 when Jim opened his shop he sold leathergoods and luggage. Now, having acquired four more shops, the business has grown and diversified and now trades from five units, selling ladies and gentlemen’s clothing, countrywear and footwear.
