Fairtrade Fortnight in Louth

PEOPLE are invited to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight with a cuppa alongside Joseph Cheruiyot, a Fairtrade tea producer from Kenya, who will visit Louth to share experiences of what working within a Fairtrade co-operative is really like.

The event will be held at The Co-operative Food store in Northgate on Tuesday March 6 at 11am, and is part of Fairtrade Fortnight (February 27 to March 11), the annual celebration of the Fairtrade movement aimed at raising the profile of FAIRTRADE Mark products.

Fairtrade helps producers in developing countries by guaranteeing fair prices and providing an additional social premium to fund vital community projects.

Guests will be able to sample the Fairtrade tea, produced at Joseph’s Co-operative in Kenya, as well as other tasty treats from The Co-operative’s extensive Fairtrade range, covering everything from chocolate, fruit and nuts to cereals, cakes and drinks.
