Fire crews tackle huge stack fire in Hogsthorpe

FIRE crews tackled a huge fire of between 400 and 500 bales of hay on Friday night, August 24, at Hogsthorpe.

Police and fire crews were called shortly after 9pm after reports of the fire and remained on scene to allow for the safe control of the blaze until it was brought under control.

PC. Andrew Price of Skegness Police Station is asking members of the public to report any suspicious vehicles seen on country lanes particularly around farms and stacks of hay at this time of year.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity around Stones Lane on the evening or over the past week is asked to contact PC Price via telephone 101 quoting incident 474 of August 24.
