French film, Cycling with Molière, a light-hearted comedy is set to be shown by Louth Film Club on Monday, November 2.
Two actors are desperate to get the main part in Molière’s
The Misanthrope: thespian eccentricity rules but rehearsing while cycling has its effect.
The film has a lot of sharp, bravura acting and some clean, sophisticated fun.
The language of a long-dead French writer is brought back to life.
Paul Hill, chair of LFC, commented: “Like a seafood dish in La Rochelle, this film is light and breezy but has enough substance to be satisfying.”
The film starts at 7.30pm at The Playhouse Cinema, in Cannon Street, Louth.
Membership of the club costs just £10 with £4 for each film (£6.50 for non-members; £5.20 for concessions).
The film is 104 minutes and is certified as a 15.
