As this year’s Sutton on Sea and Trusthorpe Carnival is just around the corner, why not enjoying a number of pre-carnival events taking place.
Eight different events are set to take place between now and the carnival day which is this year taking place on Sunday, July 26.
Kicking off with the lead up events is the Horticultural Society who are hosting their 74th annual open show this Sunday, July 19 and is taking place at The Meridale Centre in Sutton on Sea.
This event is open to the public from 1.30pm.
The next day on Monday, July 20 there is a Bingo Night at the Social Club in Sutton on Sea from 7pm and entry on the night to play is just £1.
Interested in attending an event that is a little out of the ordinary, then why not go over to The Meridale Centre on Tuesday, July 21 from 2-4pm as there is going to be pig racing and what’s even better, that it’s free to go to.
On Thursday (July 23) Marigold Cottage in Hotchin Road, Sutton on Sea is opening up its beautiful garden for all to see and what could be better with the current glorious sunny days we are having. The garden will be open from 2-5pm and will be £3 entry, but tea and cakes will also be available.
Friday, July 24 is a great evening to take your children to The Meridale Centre as a kids disco is taking place from 7.15-9.15pm and is £2 entry.
One of the highlights of the pre-carnival events is always the annual sandcastle building competition on Sutton on Sea beach. The event is open to everyone and is always great fun, a good, wholesome activity for the whole family to enjoy. It is free to enter and will take place from 10am-12noon.
The day before the main carnival event sees pavement artists show off their stuff at the War Memorial in the afternon from 2-4pm and there are also cream teas to enjoy in The Meridale Centre from 3pm for just £3.
Make sure you have all these events booked into your diary as Sutton on Sea is sure to come alive with fun in the weeks rolling up to the main Sutton on Sea and Trusthorpe Carnival Event.
