Glow-worms get Netmums award

Glow-worms toddler group in Mablethorpe has been honoured as one of the best groups in the UK’s biggest parenting competition.

The Netmums awards 2013 recognise the very best toddler and pre-school groups all across the UK.

After battling off some tough competitors in their category the Glow-worms came out victorious as one of the top toddler groups in their catergory in the Netmums ‘Parenting Oscars’.

Judy Collins who runs the Mablethorpe based group was delighted with the unexpected win.

She told the Leader: “We are really pleased and shocked to have won this award.

“We were not expecting to have even been voted, so to win is amazing.

“We have been around in Mablethorpe for many years and have received such fantastic comments off the parents about the group, which really makes it all worth while.”

The group runs at Hope House in Mablethorpe on Friday mornings from 9.30am-11am and was voted as one of the area’s most popular groups in the prestigious competition run by Britain’s largest parenting site

Local mums, dads and childcares’ praised the group for what it offers to the local community and the opportunity for the children and the carer’s to meet up with others.

Netmums founder Siobhan Freegard added: “Well done to Glow-worms!

“We had thousands of mums voting in the area - but Glow-worms’ group stood out.

“Parents love the homely atmosphere and look forward to going every week.

“It’s toddler groups like Glow-worms that show people what local communities are all about.”

Glow-worms will receive a special winners certificate to display at the group, along with a winners badge.

The group will also be gold listed on the site toddler group section, used by more than a million.
