On Saturday September 5, seven Guides and one Leader from the 7th Louth Guides took part in a water activity day at Welton Water Activity Centre near Hull.
This county event was a great opportunity not only to take part in the activities, but to meet Guides and Leaders from other units.
The Guides and Leaders were split into groups and the first task involved team activities all including water. This was then followed by building a raft out of planks of wood, string and large plastic containers. The objective was for the raft to float with the Guides and Leaders on it.
Needless to say, some attempts were more successful than others.
After lunch, the Guides and Leaders were taught how to canoe and they played games including getting from one canoe to another without falling in - resulting in some participants having a bit of an early bath!
Dinghy sailing was next on the agenda, and afterwards there were more team activities, this time thankfully not involving water as they were very cold.
Despite the cold weather, the Guides and Leaders enjoyed the day and relished the opportunity to try something different.
