UNITED Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT), which oversees Louth Hospital, has been given the thumbs up by patients in the East Midlands Patient Experience Survey.

The report looked at nine primary care trusts across the East Midlands and assessed how the local hospital Trusts provide care and treatment for their patients.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust came out as the top hospital Trust in four areas and in the top three in 11 other areas.

This is the first survey of its kind in the UK as it brought together responses from patients about the quality of their hospital experience together with recorded healthcare information.

More than 850 patients from ULHT completed the survey answering a number of questions about the quality of care they received before and after surgery.

They were asked 31 questions separated into six topic areas of; the hospital and ward; doctors and nurses; care and treatment; operations and procedures; leaving hospital and information about them. ULHT and NHS Lincolnshire scored well above the national average for every question.
