New NHS body for East Lindsey to hold first public meeting

The new NHS body which will be planning and buying health services for people in East Lindsey is set to hold its first public meeting.

Lincolnshire East Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is the new NHS body whcih will cover the Boston area, East Lindsey, Skegness and the coast.

The organisation is made up of 30 GP member practices, has an estimated 2013/14 budget of £300 million and will hold its first public meeting at 1pm, on Wednesday, April 25 at the Admiral Rodney, North Street, Horncastle.

Dr Brynnen Massey, Clinical Chair for Lincolnshire East CCG said: “April 1 marks the start of a new NHS in East Lincolnshire.

“We shall be investing in health services for over 240,000 people living in our area to give people a choice of high quality health care that helps all our patients to live healthier lives.

“Our first public meeting on April 25 is the first of our regular monthly meetings where members of the public are welcome to attend and listen to the discussions.”

The GP surgeries coming under the new commissioning group in East Lindsey include: James Street Family Practice in Louth, Newmarket Medical Practice in Louth, The Kidgate Surgery in Louth, The North Thoresby Surgery, The Wolds Practice in Tetford, Binbrook Surgery, Marsh Medical Practice in North Somercotes, Alford Group of Doctors and Marisco Medical Practice in Mablethorpe.
