A local dog owner is celebrating an amazing achievement at Crufts.

Heidi Powles of Heidi’s Dog Clipping on the Fairfield Industrial Estate competed at the famous competition with her two and a half-year-old Boston Terrier Bo, Kennel club name Fabcolus Twists Bumble.

She said: “Last year we competed there and got a third place in his class, in the last year he has qualified for Crufts an amazing seven times more. This year out of all the Boston terriers he was up against in his class from all over the world he came first out of them all!

“Bo then had to go back in the judging ring up against all the other male Boston terriers which had won their classes to find the best male and to my amazement he beat them all!

“He was crowned the best Boston Terrier dog out of over 70 males! As a result he gained his first Challenge Certificate which goes towards a Kennel Club champion title.

“Unfortunately the best bitch beat him for the best of breed title in the end but to get second out of 156 Boston terriers in total is a huge shock! At the end of the day he is a great pet which is more important than anything and he enjoys a busy lifestyle coming to work every day with me at Heidi’s Dog Clipping.

“All my customers have been so interested in it and really wished us good luck - it obviously worked! I’m so proud of him!”
