THERE were some excellent exhibits at the Barkwith and District Gardeners Association annual Evening Show held at East Barkwith Village Hall.
Judges were Cecile Povey for flowers, John Bennett for fruit and vegetables and May Bennett for floral art.
Even though it has been a difficult year for gardeners there was a terrific display.
Sheila Minns received the Ernie Smith Memorial Trophy for the best dahlia in the show and Pete Stubbs received the Margaret Fairbank Trophy for the best pot fuchsia in the show.
Grace Clark got the Betty Horton Cup for totting up the most points in the fruit and vegetable section and Sheila Minns received the Hugh Noble Rose Bowl as the exhibitor with the most points in the flower section. Lyn Small got the Barry Denny Cup for gaining the most points in the floral art section.
Special prizes for the longest runner bean and the heaviest marrow were both won by Grace Clark.
