Primary school pupils enjoyed a day at Monks’ Dyke Tennyson College recently, experiencing Music, Art, Dance and Foods from other countries. It was part of the college’s International Award Certificate accreditation. They tried samba drumming and the African gumboot dance.
Approximately 120 Year 4 and Year 5 pupils enthusiastically tried their hand at making bread, despite the intense heat in the college’s Hospitality Suite, and even better were allowed to sample their own produce! Different types of bread and other culinary delights from all over Europe was on offer to admire and taste! Mr Auld, Food Technology teacher at MDTC, was certainly impressed by their attempts.
At the end of a very exciting day all students who took part were treated to a powerpoint presentation of the day, showing the pupils of each group in action during each activity. This day will be remembered by all for many months to come.
