A NEW programme for joggers in Lincolnshire will launch this weekend at the Active Nation Lincoln 10k Road Race.
Jog Lincolnshire aims to encourage people to be more active by jogging on a regular basis with runners of a similar ability.
Lynsey Norris, Sports Manager at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “Jog Lincolnshire hopes to encourage more people to get more active; whether jogging with people of a similar fitness level, being supported by qualified Jog Lincolnshire leaders, or running individually and using our website to track your progress, there are lots of opportunities for all types of joggers across the county.”
A new website, which will launch on Sunday March 25, enables joggers to record their runs, find new routes and share their achievements with other friends on the site.
The programme is also looking for Jog Lincolnshire Leaders to organise group runs and encourage others to jog. The next course will take place at the end of May.
Sport England and NHS Lincolnshire have invested £20,000 into the project which will be managed by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership. The programme targets any runner aged 14 years plus, from beginner to advance.
