The six pupils from King Edward VI Grammar School who were selected to represent Lincolnshire in the Anglian Schools Cross Country Championships have achieved some impressive results. The competition took place at Abingdon Park, Northamptonshire, at the beginning of last month.
Joe Vickers, Jevon George-Jones and Jake Goddard (all Year Seven), Charlie Spencer and Robert Lynam (representing Years 10-11), and Emily Patch (Sixth Form) all qualified for the competition in January, and on the day they all performed well against the strongest 20 athletes from four other counties.
The three Year Seven pupils all did well, with Jevon George-Jones coming 2nd place, Joe Vickers in 15th place and Jake Goddard in 58th place.
Charlie Spencer came 5th (and he is 7th in the county overall), and Robert Lynam came 36th for the Year 10/11 boys.
Emily Patch came 36th in the Sixth Form girls competition.
Charlie and Emily will both compete in the national competition at Castle Donington later this month.
