The new Coastal Events Community Interest Company (CIC) are hosting an event this today (Wednesday) to give residents an insight on their plans to future running of current District Council owned beach huts in Sutton on Sea.
The meeting will take from 5-8pm at The Enterprise Hall in Trusthorpe Road, Sutton on Sea. The CIC formed earlier this year but have had to kick start sooner than expected due to the prospect of 77 beach huts not being open for business later this year.
A statement made by Coastal Events CIC said: “Coastal Events CIC have presented a proposal to ELDC to take over the Sutton on Sea Council owned Beach Chalets as an Asset Transfer. The threatened disposal of the chalets has touched much of the community and holiday visitors alike and we have had many pledges of support of both money and practical help.
“We would like to invite you to hear about our exciting and self sustaining plans to run the chalets for 2016 and for the future. These are an iconic asset which must be kept for Sutton and the tourist economy.”
