CROWDS flocked to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway at the weekend for the annual Easter Steam Gala.

On Sunday the white rabbit and friends went on the train handing out Easter eggs to the children.

The railway will open again on Sunday April 15 with vintage steam trains running all day between Ludborough and North Thoresby stations, starting at 10.45am.

The railway’s Gordon Newton said: “Work has started on extending the railway line south to Utterby Halt and visitors can now walk down to the engine shed and see the progress that we are making with laying the track and installing new signalling.

“The LWR is staffed entirely by volunteers and we always welcome new recruits, both young and old, to help run the railway. You don’t need any particular skill or experience and every department from engineering to catering is in need of support”.
