Supermarket chain Lidl has submitted plans to East Lindsey District Council to expand its store in Mablethorpe.
The company wants to bring one of its new Lidl of the future stores.
A similar store of this kind has recently opened up in Skegness.
A spokesman for Lidl explained: “We are excited to announce a complete revamp of the Mablethorpe store.
“The new store will feature a 2701sqm sales area (an increase from the old size of 1420sqm).
“There will also be over 100 parking spaces.
“Along with the state-of-the-art, glass fronted design and enhanced welfare area for employees.
“Customers will also benefit from wider aisles, longer tills, restroom and baby changing facilities.
“The new store will also utilise the latest energy-efficient technologies to reduce its environmental impact.”
The news of the new and improved store does mean that the store will be closed for a matter of months.
But the food chain is confident it will all be worth it for the end outcome.
The Lidl spokesman added: “Subject to planning approval we expect to start on site this Summer and to open the store in early 2017.
“We would like to thank the local residents for their continued support throughout this process.”
The store expansion would also bring an additional ten jobs into the town.
