Lincolnshire Co-op Community Champions Scheme helps Louth group

Members of Lincolnshire Co-op have raised £45,135 for 84 local good causes in the last three months, just by doing their shopping.

The Community Champions scheme sees every one of the Society’s 230,000 members linked to a good cause close to where they live.

Every time a member shops using their dividend card in any Lincolnshire Co-op outlet where points are issued – a donation from the Community Champions pot goes towards their local good cause. The groups change every three months so lots of organisations can benefit.

March marks the first anniversary of the Community Champions scheme. Since it began last year, it has boosted more than 300 groups in communities across Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties with a total of £192,750.

Good causes which have been helped include Louth & District Seniors Forum which got £865.02.
