Linda Proctor, landlady at the Wheatsheaf, had her head shaved to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday (October 23), when a fundraising raffle also took place.
Linda told the Leader: “We’ve raised around £2,500 in total; £700 being raised through the auction and raffle, and the rest through donations for the head shave.
“I was scared and emotional before, but it’s all been worth it. I’d like to thank all the customers who came along, and thanks to businesses that donated prizes too.
“I would also like to thank Zoe and Becky for holding my hand throughout, and my partner Jim Blanchard for his support.”
