Lindum Developments has announced it plans to begin work on its Golf Road project in early August after updating Mablethorpe Town Council.
Paul McSorley, director of the Lincoln-based company, presented the latest information to Mablethorpe Town Council at its meeting on Monday night (July 8).
Mr McSorley gave a detailed presentation outlining the projected build dates of each phase of the works and announced that a Development Liaison Group will be formed to keep residents informed on further developments.
He explained: “Work is due to begin on site in early August, approximately four to five weeks time.”
The firm were given planning permission in March last year for the project which includes housing, a supermarket, petrol station, pub and restaurant.
He continued: “It will take us six months to undertake the site preparations and input the build’s infrastructure and we have a short time frame of 15 months in which to deliver the affordable housing.
“From there, Tesco are due to begin building in May 2014 and in the summer of that year will see work begin on the pub and restaurant.”
Mr McSorley also said he had spent a substantial amount of time with residents in Golf Road to ‘resolve issues over the location of the dyke and rear boundaries.’
He added that Lindum would work to keep disruption to residents to a minimum.
An £850,000 community development fund will be made available by Lindum and part of it would go towards a swimming pool feasibility study, local sports facilities and flood evacuation signage.
Mr McSorley revealed that he hoped to employ a local liaison manager in case of any issues which may arise during the build.
