Louth & District CAMRA brew special beer to remember late colleague

A SPECIAL beer is being brewed in memory of Jeff Bentley, a long standing member of the Campaign For Real Ale and former chairman of the Louth branch, who died in July.

Under the guidance of Phil Ellis of Fulstow Brewery, Louth & District CAMRA members are making a beer called Bentley’s Brew.

They will be attending the brewery above the Gas Lamp Lounge in Thames Street this month to help make this one-off real ale.

It will be unveiled and a pint will be raised at the upcoming Louth Beer Festival.

Jeff was one of the founder members of the Louth CAMRA, campaigning actively for real ale.

As well as active in helping organise the Louth Beer Festival, he had a vast knowledge on beers and pubs in our area.

Louth Beer Festival runs from Thursday October 4 to Saturday October 6 at the Town and Country Club in Cannon Street.
