A former Louth headteacher will hold a book signing at Wrights Newsagents this Friday, as her debut novel takes the literary world by storm.

Maria Teanby will sell signed copies of her novel, Finding Harriet, at a discounted price of £9.99 on Friday December 20, between 11am and 2pm.

Maria wrote the semi-autobiographical novel based on her own ancestoral history, after she researched the life of her great-grandmother Harriet who had been deliberately erased from family memory.

Maria discovered that Harriet has broken a number of Victorian taboos in her lifetime, but she soon uncovered a much more shocking truth.

“She was a shady woman”, said Maria.

“It was not until I retired that I was finally able to pursue her elusive figure through the pages of history.

“Based on the real life Harriet, who was deliberately deleted from family history, I felt that Finding Harriet was a story that absolutely demanded to be told.

“Sometimes truth is better than fiction!”

The novel is currently being sold on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Foyles.

However, the £9.99 price will be exclusive at the signing.
