Louth pupils follow the Benson Trail

YOUNGSTERS followed the Benson Trail around Louth to net a prize.

Local author Susan Dodd created the trail around town based on her children’s books.

Youngsters searched for 14 pictures of Benson the cat in shop windows.

The names of all the children with the correct shop names were put into a draw, made by Leader editor Charles Ladbrook.

Amy Wrisdale from Eastfield Infants School was the overall winner, a joint effort with her cousin Hollie Lester, who goes to Lacey Gardens School.

Prizes were signed copies of Susan’s books Benson and the Wishing Machine and Benson Wishes Again, and each school got three books as well.

All entrants received a certificate for taking part in the trail.

Susan thanked the shops for displaying the pictures – Stevensons fruit shop, Dragonfly cards, Baines pet shop, Colorgrafix, Fairburns butchers, MSR news, Pocklingtons bakers, Tina and Lynne’s cafe, Igloo seafoods, Sizzers hairdressers, Little Chocolatier, Mr Chips, H and J arts and crafts, Moshulu.
