A Louth woman has been fined after failing to ensure that her child attended the local secondary school at which he was registered.

Joanne Coonghe, 39, of Longleat Drive, was fined £100 and had to pay an additional £100 court costs and £20 victim surcharge after pleading guilty at Boston Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday April 20).

She failed to secure the child’s regular attendance at Cordeaux Academy between November 17 and February 2, contrary to section 441 of the Education Act 1996.
