A man and a woman from Mablethorpe have appeared in court to face two charges regarding the welfare of their pet Chihuahua.
James Alan Coldron, 29, and Alicia Louise Lopez, 29 - both of Newstead Road, Mablethorpe - appeared at Boston Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday May 18) to face the charges.
The first charge alleges that, between October and December last year, the two defendants caused the unnecessary suffering of the Chihuahua by failing to investigate and address the causes of poor body condition and weight loss.
The second charge alleges that, between August and December last year, the two defendants failed to provide continued veterinary treatment for the Chihuahua’s fractured leg, despite it being advised by the vet. Both charges fall under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
The cases for both defendants were adjourned until the afternoon of June 29 at Boston Magistrates’ Court.
