MABLETHORPE will become a hive of activity when the town celebrates the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Monday.
East Lindsey District Council has organised a day of events for Monday, June 4 including live music and activities.
Starting at 12 noon, the seafront will play host to Punch and Judy, Dr Zoolittle’s Petting Zoo, children’s TV character Iggle Piggle and there will also be a hunt to spot ‘Royal Oddities’ on town centre shop windows.
Live music will be performed in the evening with a line-up that includes top singer songwriter from Ashby, Elliot Morris as well as Redherrings, The Hut People and Standing on Giants.
The celebrations will come to a close at 10.15pm with the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon and a firework display.
Coun Adam Grist, portfolio holder for culture, said the events will be an ‘exciting opportunity’ to boost the local economy.
“We hope this supports businesses and gives local people and visitors a great experience,” he said.
