A man has been charged with breaking a sexual offences prevention order after going in a Mablethorpe swimming pool where children were present.

Simon Matthew Jason Wells, 38, of Walford Drive in Lincoln, is accused of breaching the order between August 1 and August 5 this year at the Golden Sands Haven Holiday Camp.

The sexual offences prevention order had originally been made by Lincoln Magistrates’ Court back in June 2008.

He was allegedly in the company of children under the age of 16 during his time in Mablethorpe, without being granted written authorisation by the police, and appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on September 9.

The court directed trial by jury, meaning that Wells is now set to appear at Lincoln Crown Court on September 23.

He was remanded on unconditional bail until his next court appearance.
