A man has appeared before magistrates on allegations of possessing thousands of indecent images of children, some as young as two or three.

Jamie Lee Tye, 25, of Normandy Close, Louth, entered no plea to the 27 charges, of which 23 were for making indecent images of children, three of possessing indecent images and one of possessing a prohibited image.

The charges cover the years from Christmas Day 2003 until August 23 2012 and relate to both girls and boys from the ages of two or three to 12/14 years old. The number of images exceeds 23,000.

Skegness Magistrates sent Tye directly to Lincoln Crown Court for trial with a plea and directions hearing on December 31.

He was granted bail on condition he has no unsupervised access to children under 16.
